Transfer and installation of VuENSDF for Windows

VuENSDF is a 32-bit application running under Windows 3.1 or higher.
For Windows 95/98/NT we recommend using Isotope Explorer 2.0

A beta version of Isotope Explorer 3.0 is now available on the Internet. No installation is required. Internet Explorer 3.0 generates Nuclear Data Sheet style HTML tables and JAVA level scheme drawings. Tables work well with most browsers, but Netscape 4.5 is recommended for viewing the drawings

A complete installation of VuENSDF requires the following four steps:

1 Installation of WIN32S

In order to run a 32-bit application, Windows 3.1 requires the 32-bit extension, Win32s, which can be downloaded free of charge from Microsoft. Skip point 1 if you are running Windows 95, Windows NT or if your Windows installation contains a directory \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WIN32S.

2 Installation of VuENSDF

  1. Create a directory \VuENSDF on your hard disk
  2. Download (hold down 'shift' and click) the compressed version (VuE100.EXE 350 kB) which contains all 4 files. Choose the directory \VuENSDF as target directory.
Though the above method of getting the compressed file, you can also get the files separately, VuENSDF.EXE (700 kB), BWCC32.DLL (400 kB), VuENSDF.HLP (21 kB) and WSErrors.txt (13 kB) by shift-clicking the links.
    VuENSDF.EXE is version 1.00 (7/19/96) and BWCC32.DLL is version 4.51 (2/28/95)
